SKITZOODANCER
Dance the music instead of dancing to the music. SKITZOODANCER is a self-initiated project that focuses on user interaction. A combination of sensors attached to the wrists and ankles are connected to the SKITZOODANCER app and enable the user to trigger sounds, samples and effects by simply moving their body. The user can choose between pre-set sound libraries, but also has the option to create custom instrument sets. Step by step, the dancer learns how to create music with their own body movements.

ONDOPHONE
How much interaction can fit into one mobile phone? Giving musicians the possibility to create, record and edit music anywhere, the ONDOPHONE is a concept that fits a tiny recording studio into your pocket. Since you never know when creativity will strike, detachable recording clips can be attached to a singer’s collar, songwriter’s guitar or even between percussion instruments to capture the musical creativity of the moment. By using interactive methods like twisting and bending, the user can edit recorded snippets, add dynamic effects and compose complete songs on the go.

TWITCH
Reinventing the classic interaction with turntables. Being the first in its category, a substantial redesign of DJ platters is the key innovation of the Novation Twitch DJ controller. The redesign is based on requirements and user needs and demands for new interaction possibilities with enhanced DJ software functions.

INTERACTION METHODS
Establishing methodologies as well as digital and physical design solutions for user interactions. Whether it’s an intelligent household appliance that assists with housekeeping, car control that makes driving safer and more fun or an office collaboration tool that brings co-workers closer to each other, the result of an interaction design proposal should enable users not only to interact intuitively, but also make interacting with products a more enjoyable experience.

MEDIROBOT
Pursuing the aim of bringing technology closer to humans, the MEDIROBOT is a high-tech patient lift designed to make the life of caretakers easier and enhance the patient’s stay. Several servomotors and sensors are able to foresee the caretaker’s interaction and commands, which ensures that the patient is always at the centre of attention.

MONOLYTH
Premium perfection in every detail. The MONOLYTH Notebook is designed to represent thorough harmony between design, technology & ergonomics with focus on bringing a cutting edge product to life. The keyboard is adjustable and consists of finely crafted ceramic keys, which gives the user the possibility to find their perfect typing position. The machined aluminium body has a highly durable quartz coating adding depth, shine and brightness to the finish. Considering every detail, even connectors for data and power plugs are machined into the main body to celebrate perfection, comfort and elegance.

SCHMETTERLING
Creating space where needed. In the age of urbanisation and megacities, free space is valuable. The requirements for offices are changing from fixed work places as we know it to shared desks and multipurpose spaces. With the technical benefits of the used materials and carefully designed folding mechanism, the SCHMETTERLING table frame can be adjusted to different desk sizes. The SCHMETTERLING system is a fold-away office furniture solution, suitable for the requirements of small offices.

Establishing a visual brand language. Understanding what a brand image wants to be and which physical attributes are best associated with initial and future devices. A well designed product language communicates uniqueness and creates recognition value. Throughout time, Native Instruments’ product line has become very recognisable with its key visual elements and is highly distinguished in the music scene.

TADO° Smart Home Hub
Adding functionality and reducing production costs without sacrificing the design language. Tado is a start-up providing solutions that are simple, elegant and perfectly intuitive in the smart home sector. A close collaboration of software development, electrical engineering and design made it possible to generate a successor of the internet hub with less material, less tooling and much more functionality.

CYBERDIVE
State-of-the-art technology with custom-made materials, CYBERDIVE is the result of a cooperative project with the German-based materials specialist company, Bayer MaterialScience (Covestro) and one of Japan’s top innovation companies, Cyberdyne. Designed for the ergonomic requirements of the human body, CYBERDIVE enables the user to experience a completely new way of swimming and discovering the underwater world.

Reinventing forgotten sports. Based on the traditional Basque game, Pelota Vasca, CAMADA is a concept that is transporting the highly aesthetic, fast & powerful game into the present. By using high-performance materials and adjusting the sweet spot between speed and agility, this sport concept makes the leap into a whole new way of playing this traditional game.

HANSATON Hearing Aids
Changing the perception of medical devices. Most of the medical devices around us are highly focused on functionality and cost efficiency, leaving visual appeal behind. Especially in areas where medical devices are in contact with humans, look and feel is very important. By bringing together sleek design and knowledge of industry and the best colour, material and finish practices, Hansaton's Art Edition series could achieve a well-perceived transformation from offering ordinary medical devices to hearing aid jewellery.

BMW X7 Concept Car Steering Wheel
Connecting technology with luxury. The interplay of high-quality materials and high-end technology is what gives the BMW X7 Concept Car a luxurious and modern expression. The steering wheel is a combination of the finest leather and a polished, satin-finished metal. The interactive surface is completely embedded into glass, which gives it depth and the glowing icons a floating presence.

GOBANDIT LIVE
Supporting start-ups by bringing their ideas to life. In order to avoid setbacks, pushing design concepts into production requires fundamental knowledge of production processes and the ability to modify the design to changing circumstances. During the product development of the Gobandit LIVE action camera, the requirements changed towards ergonomics, waterproofness and more advanced technology. The result was an improved product without sacrificing the design.

MYGUIDE
Adding value to surfaces. Using patterns is a great way of attaching an additional layer of information, depth or functionality to surfaces. The nature-inspired pattern of the Myguide Navigation System gives the user more grip and brings more value to the product.

BMW Group Concept Car Speaker Patterns
Blending surface with the fascination of generative patterns. With the use of mathematical calculation (grasshopper), it is possible to create patterns with continuous transitions and the transformation of pattern particles. For the latest BMW Concept Car line, the precise alignment of the Fibonacci sequence to contour and three dimensional shape results in a highly aesthetic speaker grid pattern.

Umur Sener is a design consultant & creative professional specialised in the field of consumer electronics, medical devices and lifestyle products. With more then 10 years of work experience, he combines insight into upcoming trends, a user-centred work approach and fundamental knowledge of production processes into a holistic service for industrial & user interface design assignments. Creating a unique and intuitive user experience by making design feasible and justifiable is always his ultimate goal.
Sener worked on projects for international ventures (e.g. Samsung, B/S/H, Native Instruments, Loewe, Focusrite, JBL, Siemens, Bayer MaterialScience, Tado°, Hansaton, Bosch, Grundig) with various renowned design consultancies or as an individual design professional and consultant.
He studied Industrial Design at the HfG Schwaebisch Gmuend and Kingston University London with the objective of making products useful and understandable.
His work has received numerous awards including the Good Design Award, German Design Award, Red Dot Award, IF Award, IDEA Award, Plus X Award and VDID Award.
